Dr. Rima Karami is the Minister of Education and Higher Education in the Reform and Rescue Government, holding an EdD in Educational Leadership from Portland State University and multiple degrees from the American University of Beirut. She is the Director and Principal Investigator of the “TAMAM” Project, a pioneering Arab initiative for school-based reform that won the UNESCO-Hamdan Prize in 2022. With extensive experience in educational leadership, reform, and research across nine Arab countries, Dr. Karami has led transformative projects that strengthened school management and policy development in the region.
This initiative supports one of the Ministry’s core goals and aligns with its strategic vision for effective schools and the reforms embedded in the new curriculum. It also reinforces the vision of a model national school, whether public or private, by fostering partnerships with all stakeholders and empowering teachers and students with agency and voice for sustainability and development
